Shopping for Dad is no easy feat. And finding something personalized and affordable is almost impossible. In this tutorial, I'll walk you through putting together this fun "Dad Pack" - a gift pack filled with a few personalized DIY gifts and some of his favourite treats.
DAD PACK PROJECT #1: RUSTIC TERRA COTTA PHOTO COASTERS/WALL ART
Check out this easy-to-follow tutorial for hand-painted photo coasters - perfect for his man cave, braai room or an outdoor entertaining area! But wait for it... They double as really cool wall art too!
DAD PACK PROJECT #2: DAD'S AWESOME COUPON BOOK
How about this fun, tongue-in-cheek coupon gift book - download the FREE templates and personalize it!
AND THEN...?
Create a "gift basket" using an upcycled ice cream container, some wrapping paper and stuffing (hay, tissue paper or even ripped pieces of newspaper or wrapping paper):
Measure enough wrapping paper to cover the outside of the ice cream container and cut "pizza slices" in the corners of the wrapping paper.
One by one, fold towards the centre of the container and cello tape the corners in place. Also cello tape down any unruly bits on the inside.
Stuff the basket with hay, tissue paper or ripped pieces of newspaper/wrapping paper.
Pack the hand-made gifts we just made, and finish off your Dad Pack by adding some of Dad's favourite things - a couple of beers; delectable snacks; drawings from the kids... Make it your own. Or rather - make it HIS!
SHARE THE LOVE
Show off your Dad Pack (and maybe even his expression when you give it to him!) by posting a pic on Instagram using #MyHappyCrafts. I would love to see it!
Until next time... Happy crafting!
