’Tis the season to be folly…
Yup - Black Friday is upon us. If you’ve followed me for a while, you’ll know that my distaste of this day has compelled me to carve out some meaning in all the madness, nurturing a culture of giving back in my business and life in general. Each year, instead of simply just slashing prices, I invite my wonderful customers to join me in making the world just a little bit better: I vow to donate a 10% of all sales to a worthy cause (while still giving you 10% off!).
Over the years, during Black Friday and my business' birthday sale in April, we’ve donated to Helderberg Animal Welfare, SANCCOB (twice!), Gift of the Givers in aid of Ukraine and the Owl Orphanage in Velddrif.
As always, this year my chosen charity is one close to my heart: St Helena Sandveld Hospice. They're currently a lifeline for someone very dear to me, who shares that their care is not only desperately needed by many, but that their staff have been incredibly caring, professional and compassionate during a very difficult time.
